MEET YOUR DESIGNER

I fell in love with interior design when I was just eight years old. During “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at the architecture firm where my mom worked, I wandered into the building materials room—and everything instantly clicked. That spark eventually led me to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from The Art Institutes of Minnesota.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in both commercial and residential design, shaping spaces of all sizes and styles. One of my strongest specialties is cabinetry design—it’s a language I know fluently and one I love translating for my clients.

I’m naturally curious and always learning, which keeps my work fresh, intentional, and deeply rooted in problem-solving. Above all, I care about creating an exceptional experience for every client—one where they feel guided, supported, and excited about the home we’re bringing to life together.

I started Melissa Mathieu Designs in 2019 with the encouragement of my amazing husband. We’re high school sweethearts, married for seven years, and now raising our little boy—who we are endlessly grateful for. Along with our two hound dogs, he keeps life busy, full, and joyful. We love spending quality time together, especially outdoors, soaking up the beautiful Minnesota seasons.

I’m a firm believer in building a life you genuinely love. Not everyone gets excited about pulling a space together the way I do—or even knows where to start. But everyone deserves a home that feels beautiful, functional, and calming. A home that truly supports the way they live.

With my blend of creativity, attention to detail, and passion for problem-solving, I help clients bring their vision to life in a way that feels effortless and enjoyable.
